Essential Oil (essential oil) is oil that is produced from the extraction process of leaves, bark, roots, flowers, fruit, and other aromatic parts by means of steam distillation. Some essential oils have a strong content, and aroma, and therefore needed oil that can thin the essential oil (dillute), its function is to avoid allergies, or irritation when applying it to the skin (topical)

Carrier oil is vegetable oil from seeds, kernels or nuts, which are extracted by cold pressed process. Carrier oil does not have a strong aroma like essential oils, but carrier oil can dissolve substances or essential oils that can cause allergies or irritation to the skin

Carrier oil has a faster storage period, which is around 6 months, while essential oil has a shelf life of approximately 2 years. Over time the carrier oil can turn rancid, and cannot be used anymore. In contrast to essential oils that can evaporate and lose therapeutic benefits, but do not change the aroma or rancid

 

Here are some examples of commonly used carrier oils :

Almond oil

Argan oil

Castor oil

Grapeseed oil

 Jojoba oil

 Kukui Nut oil

 Olive oil

Sesame oil

 Sunflower oil

Urang Aring oil

Virgin Coconut oil

 

Carrier oil can be stored in plastic bottles, or if possible, use a dark glass bottle, and place it in a cool, not exposed to sunlight, or store in the refrigerator to help extend the life of storage. Never use carrier oil, when you are diffusing essential oil with a Diffuser, the carrier oil can actually damage your diffuser
