Frankincense (Boswellia serrata)

The Frankincense (incense) known as olibanum, comes from the Boswellia tree, including Boswellia sacra and Boswellia carteri. Frankincense comes from milky white sap, which is extracted from the bark of the tree, which is allowed to harden, into rubber resins for several days, and then scraped under droplets of water.

Frankincense grows in Somalia and Pakistan. This tree is different from many other trees, because it can grow with very little soil in dry and quiet conditions, such as mountains in India, Africa and the Middle East.
